Casework and Community Legal Education
We are committed to using our professional legal skills to support access to justice through our casework practice and community legal education.
Casework
Through targeted casework for people experiencing vulnerability and disadvantage, we provide individuals and communities with legal advice and representation.
We prioritise legal assistance on critical issues such as credit and debt, migration justice, workplace exploitation and discrimination. Our casework clients include refugees and migrants, people with disability, women experiencing gender-based violence, people facing economic inequality, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. Our hands-on support helps individuals navigate complex legal systems that may otherwise be out of reach.
We also work closely with community legal centres to support their frontline assistance to people experiencing these and other legal problems, as well as on broader systemic social justice issues.
Community Legal Education
It is essential for people experiencing legal issues to have access to trusted and accurate sources of information.
Our fact sheets and legal education sessions empower people to understand their rights and make informed decisions.
We also partner with community legal centres and other not-for-profit organisations to deliver this work.
