New Zealand

WK New Zealand signed up to the Your Sustainable Workplace programme to reduce waste to landfill and embed sustainable practices into the business. The Green Team have introduced initiatives, including keep cups for staff, e-waste collections, stationery recycling, toner/ink cartridge recycling, food waste collection, coffee pod recycling, and battery recycling.

WK New Zealand is now working towards becoming carbon neutral and adopting an ESG strategy.

This year the team partnered with DUAL NZ to plant 80 trees at Makara Peak and to help with a ‘tree rescue’ at Papakura stream to help release native plants and give them the best chance of survival.

Rebecca Scott, Partner

“Our lawyers make a real difference when they volunteer their time for projects like tree planting. It’s more than just giving back – it’s about supporting our clients’ values and making a positive impact on the environment.

What I also love is the time we spend outside in the nature – it helps boosts our mental health and mood and gives us a break from the office.”

Wotton Kearney acknowledges the traditional custodians of the lands on which we work, and pay our respects to Elders past and present.
